I received a message from a client the other day about Facebook. She was locked 🔒 out of her business Facebook account. Although MFA was active she was stuck in a loop when asked to log back into her account. The verification code wasn’t working or sometimes would not be sent to her cell phone.
Did you experience this outage? I know it wasn’t everyone on Facebook or in certain areas. Some sites were saying:
“March 5 (Reuters) – Meta-owned Facebook and Instagram were back up on Tuesday after a more than two-hour outage that was caused by a technical issue and impacted hundreds of thousands of users globally.”
“The White House National Security Council was monitoring the incident and was not aware of any specific malicious cyber activity at this time, a spokesperson said.”
The outages appeared to affect users globally, with problems reported in the United Kingdom, Germany, Argentina, Japan and elsewhere. The outage comes ahead of a deadline on Wednesday for Meta and other tech giants, including Apple and Google, to comply with the Digital Markets Act, a new European Union law that aims to increase competition in the digital economy. The law requires the companies to overhaul how some of their products work so that smaller competitors can access their users.-CNN
