Cleanup and Optimization

  • 1. Set computer power settings and set the screen saver to the Windows logo
  • 2. Downloaded various software to clean the computer.
  • 3. Hard Drive check (CMD)
  • 4. Reboot the computer in safe mode.
  • 5. Perform cleanup and optimization.
  • 6. Dumped memory and optimized
  • 7. CMD- System file check.
  • 8. Uninstalled unwanted software.
  • 9. Uninstall AVG, Avast, and free antivirus software that conflicts with performance.
  • 10. Defrag- drives, boot time, and system files. (If not SSD)
  • 11. Clean up folders and remove broken shortcuts.
  • 12. Cleanup startup menu and add delays to optimize the boot
  • 13. Clear the clipboard and empty folders
  • 14. Repair system files if needed
  • 15. Disk Cleanup to free up space and memory
  • 16. Increase paging memory for Internet Explorer. (Virtual memory)
  • 17. Delete tracking cookies
  • 18. Remove unwanted browser extensions.
  • 19. Remove malware and threats.
  • 20. Installed Windows updates and patches.
  • 21. Installed Java and Adobe DC and updates.
  • 22. Uninstalled downloaded software tools.
  • 23. Recorded remote sessions.
  • 24. Boot the computer and log in.
  • 25. Documents with screenshots and make a folder labeled “DaveTheNerdGuy LLC”.
  • 26. Have the client check the computer and sign off to bill.
